How to choose a stick

【Length】

① Types of Lengths

Sticks are available in lengths for juniors to adults.

It is important to choose a stick that suits you!

② Length Guideline

Choose a stick that is about the same length as your belly button!

【Shape】

① Types of Shapes

In hockey, the shape of the stick (bow and head shape) can make ball control and dribbling easier, and provide an advantage in certain positions.

The sticks we carry are mainly:

SB (Straight Bow) and LB (Low Bow)

There are two types.

*Some players use XLB and XC depending on their position.

② Recommended Bow for Beginners

The recommended bow is 『SB (Straight Bow)』!

SB has the most neutral bow among sticks and is ideal for acquiring basic techniques (trapping and passing).

【Price】

① About Price

There are sticks ranging from affordable to high-end (expensive) for advanced players.

The price varies depending on the amount of carbon contained in the stick material.

⬇︎

The more carbon material it contains, the harder the stick becomes, and the faster the ball speed when hit.

② Recommended Price for Beginners

We recommend sticks with a carbon ratio of 30-50%!

⬇︎

Why?

If the rebound force is strong (the stick is hard), it becomes easier for the ball to bounce off when receiving (trapping). Of course, there are technical issues, but a lower carbon ratio makes it easier for beginners to receive the ball!

It takes time to master "stopping the ball," which is the most important skill in hockey, and this can be a factor in losing motivation! First, we recommend sticks in the 15,000-25,000 yen range!
